The 225th anniversary of the American Revolution is in full swing.  In 1776, the war became more than an uprising.  With the Declaration of Independence, the Colonist were set upon the road to build a new nation.  Even though the Brigade of Guards is a British unit, the members are Americans and celebrate this most remarkable nation that is the United States of America.  No one, certainly not most of the Colonist, believed they had a chance to defeat Great Britain.  Many risked everything to build a new country.  A similar number risked everything to defend what they saw as the legal government of King George III.  The best way to learn about the American Revolution is to recreate it.
